Align a Before-and-After Pair
Prepare a before-and-after pair that can sit in a slider. If the camera moved, the comparison is a lie until it is aligned. PAIR What changed on purpose: [RETOUCH | A TREATMENT | A CLEANING | A DESIGN] What must not appear to have changed: [THE ROOM'S ARCHITECTURE | THE PERSON'S SHAPE | THE CROP] Files: [TWO PHOTOS OR TWO EXPORTS] PLAN 1) Match crop, rotation, and scale using details that did not change (a window corner, the eyes if the face is the constant). Say what you used as the anchor. 2) Match white balance and exposure so the only visible difference is the intended one. If the light changed on set, admit the comparison is not clean. 3) The slider export: identical dimensions, no border on one side only, labels "before" and "after" outside the image or in a caption, not baked over the subject. 4) The ethical check: do not move a wall, a body outline, or a lesion and still call it the same photo. If the edit did that, the caption must say so or the pair should not be published. 5) File names and the unaligned originals kept. Do not warp the after image to hide a difference you are claiming you did not cause.
